We had Gift as our driver. All excellent (including coasting home without power 😂). We were collected a little late from our hotel but contacted in advance. All pick ups were on time and Gift was helpful with organising our stops. Stony brook was our first and absolute favourite. Tuk Tuk was the best way to travel. More flexible than the tram (you set your own schedule) and also visits some of the smaller wineries. Don’t hesitate, just book.

Brilliant fun, touring vineyards around Franschhoek. We have been regular customers for several years whenever we stay in the village. The drivers are great, picking you up at your accommodation and either suggesting an itinerary or letting you choose your own. We have discovered some beautiful vineyards, thanks to their local knowledge. We highly recommend this way of discovering the wines of Franschhoek in the best way possible.

We did the half day wine tour around three wineries in the Franschhoek area. Our guide Francis was absolutely brilliant and selected three superb wineries giving us great views of the valley from both sides and a super choice of wines. Super fun and great value too, Francis went above and beyond to make our experience a truly memorable one. Highly recommend +++++

I booked the 'Tuk Tuk' curated wine day as we wanted to experience something of the area and it was great value for money. We were picked up on time from our hotel by Francis in his 'Tuk Tuk' and transported to Rickety Bridge for a wine tasting and blending of our own bottle of wine. This was a fun experience and we were able to take our own blended bottle of wine away with us and luckily it got back to the UK unscathed! We blended, corked, foil capped and stuck on our own designed label so it was the full process! From here we were transported to the Mont Rochelle wine estate owned by Richard Branson. We couldn't do the cellar tour as it was closed for H&S reasons but this didn't bother us as we just sat with some newly met people who arrived in a different 'tuk tuk' and sampled copious amounts of red, white and rose wine - all very good and generous. From here we went for a two course lunch in the restaurant. The food was OK, not memorable and is quite heavy so be prepared. I had grilled Kingklip fish and this was tasty enough. Just be aware that there can be some confusion in that the wine in not included with lunch but you pay for it separately. This was not a problem but the paperwork is contradictory with one email saying two course lunch and the other saying two course lunch with wine. The wine is cheap anyway so it is just a blip with the paperwork but worth being aware to avoid any issue. Lunch was very slow indeed such that we had to keep the transfer to the next stop waiting, but this didn't seem to be a problem. After lunch we were transported to the motor museum owned by the' Anthonij Rupert Estate', which was interesting with a superb array of cars. The white scenic tram then drove us across the very large estate to the wine tasting and again, wine servings (we went for the sparkling wines) which were very generous. The day culminated with minibus transport back to our hotel and we both agreed that this was a fun way to spend the day going to a variety of vineyards and all for a very reasonable price. We would happily recommend it!

La Chataigne connected us with Tuk Tuk Franschhoek after our Uber bailed on us because he refused to drive on gravel.

From that moment, we knew that we could depend upon this service for our transportation needs, and that’s exactly what we did. The drivers are friendly and professional and the cars are nice. A quick message on WhatsApp, and we were picked up within minutes, always apprised of what type of car to look out for, and the fares were very reasonable.

For your transportation needs while in Franschhoek, don’t hesitate to call Tuk Tuk Franschhoek!!

So pleased we chose to do the TukTuk tour instead of the wine tram.
We visited vineyards that were not on the wine tram stop and therefore the first 2 we visited were like private visits. It was amazing and a high light to our trip in South Africa.
The driver was lovely and always on time. I would definitely recommend doing the tuktuk over the wine tram!

We had a wonderful half day tour with our driver Francis. He was a wonderful guide and driver who allowed us to complete our quite special itinerary without any hesitation. We would highly recommend the tour!
We did Dieu Donné, Haute Cabrière, La Bri Wine Estate and got dropped at Mont Rochelle for sunset. Thank you so much Francis!

My husband and I booked the full day curated wine tour with Tuk Tuk on the recommendations of a friend. It was a brilliant day and we were extremely well looked after by the Tuk Tuk and winery staff. All of the tastings and food were included in the upfront price (which was exceptional value) so there was literally nothing to worry about on the day.

We started at La Bri (going from Franschhoek town center in a tuk tuk) with a tour followed by a wine tasting with a pairing (we chose chocolate - yum!). The next stop was Mont Rochelle for a cellar tour, tasting and 2 course lunch, which was fantastic - we never felt rushed by our tour guide as we were given just the perfect amount of time to relax and take in the atmosphere. Finally, we were taken in a larger vehicle out to Anthonij Rupert Estates, where we were greeted with a glass of their brut rose before boarding the tram for a tour of the vineyard on the way to the Auto Museum where we had a private tour (c. 1 hour). Following the tour, we took the tram through the vineyard back to the main building for a private tasting. I chose to do the L'Ormarins tasting and my husband a different wine tasting than would have been included in our tour, but the winery refused to charge us any extra, which was a lovely surprise! The man leading our tasting even gave us some mystery tastings to see if we could identify the grape variety.

Having friends that had done the wine tram before, we would absolutely recommend Tuk Tuk over that as there is no rush and plenty of time at the vineyards that should definitely be on your list!

Dear Karen,

Again, I must write to you guys after a 2nd visit to Franschhoek and making use of your services.

Just perfect.....again.

The guests I brought through from the UK in February, had obviously headed home and waxed lyrical about bouncing around the wine-farms in Tuk Tuks.

So this visit including my 85yr old Aunt from the UK, had to include a Tuk Tuk day.

We chose to visit Colmant & Klein Goederust. Both phenomenal, but it is made all the easier and so much more fun to have you guys ferry us about.

Your driver Gift, and his colleague Mousa (?? - hate it if I have that wrong) were brilliant, and so helpful.

On departure from TUK TUK HQ, it was a little difficult for my Aunt to climb up and into the 1st vehicle, but we managed, and out at Colmant.

On collection at Colmant, there were 2 drivers and 2 vehicles! The 2nd, lower to the ground, with heavily padded seating.

This simple, unrequested and thoughtful kindness made my Aunt's day.

And in turn, mine, as that kind of thinking is the true art of service.

You have, in my opinion, hit on a winning formula, and I look forward to the next opportunity to re-book.

We used the Tuk Tuk to visit two wine farms which we chose in Franschhoek (Le Lude for MCC tasting and Leeu). The whole experience was easy and great fun. The drivers had great senses of humour and drove very safely. Just to note that Leeu do not allow the Tuk Tuks to go near the wine tasting venue (even though cars are allowed) so there is a bit of a walk from the entrance/drop off point but don’t let that put you off using the Tuk Tuk, just choose other wine estates if you cannot walk any distance.
