08:30 — Meetup
We gather at the Dutch Reformed Church in the heart of town at 8:30am. As Franschhoek’s oldest building, it’s a fitting and atmospheric place to begin our wander.
08:30 — Main Street Walk
After a warm welcome, we set off down Main Street before slipping quietly into a plum orchard and a neighbouring local vineyard.
09:00 — Enter the Vineyards
We cross a series of small bridges and make our way into Mont Rochelle Wine Estate, pausing for a moment of calm beside a serene dam.
10:00 — Tasting at Mont Rochelle
On the deck overlooking elevated views of the Franschhoek Valley, we enjoy our first wine tasting of the day with a selection of Mont Rochelle’s finest wines.
10:45 — Wine Farm Visit
Our stroll continues along a peaceful country lane that leads us into the enchanting Bokkie Statue Garden at the magnificent Leeu Estate.
11:30 — Tasting at Mullineux & Leeu
At Mullineux & Leeu, we savor five exceptional wines. With Andrea Mullineux named South Africa’s Winemaker of the Year five times, this tasting is undoubtedly one of the day’s standout moments.
12:45 — Tuk Tuk Ride
With spirits high, we hop into a tuk tuk for a relaxed and scenic ride to our lunch destination: the incomparable La Cotte Heritage Farm.
13:00 — Farm-Style Lunch at La Cotte
We settle in for a delicious farm-style lunch at La Cotte, the historic farm on which Franschhoek was founded. The beautifully refurbished Old Mill—now a charming coffee shop—serves as our final stop.
14:15 — River Stroll
We round off the experience with a gentle walk along the La Cotte River, following its path back toward town.
14:30 — Tour Ends
Our wine wander concludes where it began—back at the church—bringing a perfect end to a day of stories, scenery, and exceptional wines.
